Impact
Our collective efforts have increased opportunities for communities to thrive by:
Expanding access to quality early learning by mobilizing parent leaders to advocate for and win major public investments in early care and education
Increasing access to California Paid Family Leave (PFL) by campaigning for legislation that increased the wage replacement rate for PFL, and extended 12 weeks of job-protected parental leave to 2.7 million more workers
Increasing awareness of family leave rights through outreach and education with community-based organizations, safety net health centers, the California Comprehensive Perinatal Services Program, and the California Employment Development Department
Providing coordinated care to very high needs children through interdisciplinary clinic-school collaboration
Educating and empowering low-wage workers to enforce their rights, and catalyzing support to increase the minimum wage and create affordable housing in one of the most expensive metro areas in the nation
Promoting criminal justice reform and helping individuals address collateral consequences affecting their re-entry
Increasing community-based leadership in program development and policy advocacy
